Computer Accounts

North Seattle students, faculty, and staff have two required computer accounts and one optional computer account. These accounts allow you to access resources, software, and applications that live on different systems.  

  • EAD Account (Enterprise Active Directory)- this account is needed to access all classroom and lab computers and is automatically created for you.  This is used to access Seattle Colleges email, Office 365 online, and a growing number of internal applications for staff and faculty.  
  • SID/PIN (Student InDentification/ersonal PIN code)- this account is needed to register for classes (students) or access the Instructor Briefcase and other SCCD Intranet-based services (faculty/staff), and is automatically assigned to you.
  • Google Apps for Education (including gmail).  This is an optional account and is not required for any student, faculty or staff.  Some faculty and some students use Google Apps  in conjunction with their courses, including using Google documents to submit assignments. To get access to Google Apps, you must first create a NetID for yourself.  Your NETID username and password will only give you access to Google Apps and gmail.  It is no longer used for anything else on campus.  

1. Create your NetID: How to Create your NETID, then choose “create my NetID” button.    
2. You’ll be asked to read and agree to the terms of use.  Click “Yes” and “Submit”.
3. Complete the Student NetID form, including choosing your username and password for your Google account. Submit.
4. To access your Google account AFTER you set up your NETID, simply go to google.com or gmail.com in your browser, and login with your NetID:     username@northseattle.edu, e.g.  criche@northseattle.edu
